Woke Up This Morning, Bought Myself A Gun
So, I’m not sure if I’ve found enjoyment in this because of my undying passion for all things entertainment/celebrity or because it reaffirms so many stereotypes about both, being from New Jersey, and also being from a super Italian American family in an all Italian American town in New Jersey.
Yesterday morning, my dad is breezing through the aisles at the local stop and shop, sipping his coffee, leafing through the morning paper when he looks up and goes,
“Oh. What the Hell are you doing here?”
Apparently, James Gandolfini aka Tony Soprano was standing in front of him doing the same thing, sipping coffee, reading the paper.
So Gandolfini progresses to tell my dad that they were filming the final episode of the Sopranos at the Gas Station across the street from my house. (To a large, Italian man, saying ‘Oh, what the hell are you doing here’ apparently is similar to a waspy, blonde headed teen screaming and crying ‘I love you J. Timberlake! I love you!’ when star-struck)
So, Gandolfini continued to tell my father to bring his coffee over to the set to check it out, yada yada yada, my whole town was chock full of HBO trailers all day, yada yada yada…
And, just b/c I’m known for slight fabrication, this article will confirm that yes, it actually did occur in my town…not in, like, Cj’s town or something… http://www.dailyrecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070314/COMMUNITIES31/703140364/1203/NEWS01
Spoiler alert-rumor on the set was that Tony gets shot in the last episode…here’s to hoping it was a rumor…
And…scene.
