Walls Crumble as Retailers Unite

So I was lessening the blow of my latest Urban Outfitters purchase with a $25 gift card when the chick with cool hair but poor register skills effed it up and charged me for the gift card rather than making with the free money. So anyway, she has to call over the manager and we commence a half an hour struggle of voids, rebates, and phone calls from Ken the higher up. I seriously considered dropping Jackie's name to see if that would get me anywhere. While all of this was going on, some dude comes up to the counter and beckons to the manager, looking very important obviously with some top secret info. He explains that he is from American Eagle and that they have spotted a shoplifter in the area. The two young floor managers discuss the issue in hushed tones for a minute. Urban gets a discription of the criminal (red hat and GAP sweatshirt), promises to keep an eye out for him and thanks AE dude for the warning. They part with a handshake."Peace", they grunt. It was truely touching to see the logo tee and pre-faded baseball hat of American Eagle meet the scrawny tattooed arms and emo glasses of Urban. And although the urban employees may have been pretentiously snickering at the crew cut and official style headset as AE dude guy walked away, I couldn't help but feel that I had witnessed a real step forward for retailers world wide. They really got each other's backs.
