ladies, ladies, ladies

It has been way too long since anyone has posted anything on the blog, so i figured i would try to get it up and running again.  I hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving, christmas and new years. Things are looking good around these parts.   It looks like moving out will soon become a reality. I set a goal for myself to move out before the 25th birthday, and it looks like I am right on track. I hope to be moving in with a friend of mine from work.  We are looking at the brooklyn area.  As soon as we actually move and get everything set up, I will definitely have an apt. warming party and you are all invited.  Lauren is finishing up her last semester at school and will be moving home after graduation, so that is def motivation for me to get out of the house.  Kevin and Ro are doing well, as is Pluto.
How is everything by you guys?  Ang, I kind of know what is going on with you since we had dinner recently, but please keep me posted on the job situation.   B and C - how the heck have you two been?  Care-i know you were home for a bit during Christmas, but when are you home for good?  Chauncey - how is life after Grad school and how does it feel to have your masters?  Still living w/ mom in Ashland or did you move back to boston?  Hope to hear from all of you at some point or another.  I am hoping to head up to boston to visit sometime in the spring to see you guys plus rachie and caitlin.  Talk to you soon (hopefully)

Whoring myself out...

www.applevalleyreview.com

My latest interview is now published and available on the web. It is with author and poet Sue William Silverman. She's kind of a big deal in the world of creative nonfiction, has won all sorts of awards, is the editor of this fabulous literary magazine, and currently has one of her books, titled, Lovesick, in production for film.

Pass the link around to all your equally nerdy, lit loving, bookworm friends.

Give my Regards to Broadway

So, has anyone else been really, really excited about the fact that a braodway musical is in production based on the Flaming Lips' Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots? Cause I am. Like, really, really excited.

In addition, I wonder if any young lads might dare to accompany me on an adventure to witness the spectacle that is Xanadu on Broadway, come, mayhaps, sometime in September/OCtober?

please

I, like, never read this thing.

But while I'm here, can you believe that Tanya Harding was behind this whole Nancy Kerrigan brouhaha? And don't get me started on Lorena Bobbit. Have you heard of these new snap bracelet thingies? What's the deal with those? Also, big haired troll dolls? If I wanted to be freaked out every time I go into my sister's room to read her diary, I'd have told her that NKOTB are having a "cover your room with our faces" contest to win tickets to a show. Whoops, step by step is on, gotta go.

Rump Shaker

The weekend of August 17th. My birthday is on Thursday, the 16th, so either that Friday or Saturday. Yeah, we have a boat for the summer and there is this AWESOME island right out in the harbor near where we live that all our friends and us go party on, so I think we'll probably do that. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE for any of you to come. Picture: blazing fire, somewhat intoxicated (but safe) nighttime boating, booze and company, midnight swims, ice cream cake and of course, seafood and smores. Let me know if your can come. Not kidding, Brielle has seen it...our house is kind of huge, so you and any guests would be MORE than welcome to crash.
K, that's all. Miss you guys.

Party

Ang when is your party. I may try to make an appearance, although it may be difficult. Let me know the date.

Hello from afar(aka-the Cape)

Hello my long lost friends. I think you'll all be happy to know that I was JUST about to go for a run, but then briefly for the first time in weeks checked Lamda, and, needless to say, have made the wise choice to post here rather than sweat like a maniac in the 90 degree heat. Cheers!

Life on the Cape is wonderful and I am going to be very, very sad to leave in a few weeks. Though the tri-state/Mass eternal rivalry runs deep, I must say, I do like this ol' Commonwealth you call MA.

But seriously, life here is awesome. I got screwed out of my teaching job for the summer by some woman who couldn't remember my name (long story, will tell at later date) and so have been babysitting 3 days a week. Translation: I go to the beach/drink beer almost every day and feel like I'm 21 again. It's amazing. Also, I will be 25 in 2 weeks. Crazy. B- I'm having a quarter of a century party on one of the islands out here that weekend if you're able to come...think beer, lobster, blue crabs and late night swims. Sweet.

Matt and I are doing great. First time we've lived near each other in almost two years, and it's been a wonderful thing. He's still the same Beam you remember, only slightly more mature and with longer hair. He's next to me right now and says 'Hi'.

What else, what else. Yes, our town had a Harry Potter party on the night of the book release. Many children and nerdy adults from the OCeanographic Institute were dressed in costume and all the bars had wizard-influenced drink specials and at midnight, the streets were flooded with children reading. It almost made me cry (but that was mostly the dragon martinis, I think).

Harvey, I'll be back in the tri-state first week in September, where I will more than likely be stressed out about school/work, so let's plan an evening of dinner/cocktails for that weekend or sometime close to. Care, I like to waste time online looking at your Taiwain pics, so please continue to post. Roy (who I'm sure is reading this). I met a kid from Boston the other day who looked like your twin, only shorter. His name is Ian. Beware. Brielle-call me. You know how we do.

Wait, does Jackie still post on this, or is the blog now a Hungerford thing? Anyway, was with her all weekend-looks great, her Cali. boyfriend who I finally met is more than great, and her big move to Portland Oregon, which is happening in a few weeks seems like it will be great as well.

Ugh, now that all that BORING stuff is out of the way....
Dude, Nicole Richie's TINY body preparing to pop out a wee Richie. Discuss.
Also on the list of important, earth-shattering news: Whoopi-WHY are you going to do the View?!?!?!?

Miss you guys. Care, when do you come back to this side of the globe???

Lets start posting more regularly...aka, once a month. Love you all (even you, Warchild.)

Hearts,
A sunburned Gella.

The sad tale of another child star gone bad

So, where do i begin? I guess i will start with her first visit to rehab back in January. After she was rehabilitated and released, she got into an accident with some shrubs Memorial Day weekend after a night of drinking, prompting a second stint in rehab. While in rehab, she decided to extend her stay to a total of, i believe, 45 days. Prior to her second trip to rehab, she planned on having her 21st birthday at Pure nightclub in Vegas. Since her birthday was going to take place during rehab, there were wild rumors that she was going to leave to have her bash in Vegas. Those rumors were squashed when the event was cancelled. So to celebrate her birthday, she left rehab and chilled with friends on a beach in Malibu. After completing her second trip to rehab, Ms. Lohan agreed to wear this alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet to prove to everyone that she was determined to stay sober. She still went to nightclubs and partied and danced, but allegedly did not consume alcohol. So now comes the fun part.............Last week, or whenever it was, she was out at a party with her assistant, when her assistant up and quits. Apparently the assistants mother was there or something. One thing led to another and the assistants mom calls the cops saying there is this SUV following them. Turns out the SUV is being driven by LiLo. Now this part is new, i just read it....so i guess Lohan "hijacked" this SUV which had two or three people in the car. While she was driving off, one of the kids jumps out of the car and Lohan drives over his foot. She catches up to the mom of the assistant and/or the assistant and they start having a "heated debate" in a parking lot. Cops show up, turns out Lindsay is wasted. The cops arrest Lindsay and while going through booking at the precinct, they find coke on her. She is alleging the coke isn't hers. She was released on bail and is now at an undisclosed location. Experts believe she could get up to 6 months in jail for the 2 dui's. I believe that synopsis is mostly accurate based on what i have read. Any other input ladies?

On a side note b/c you probably haven't heard of this one yet, Nicole Richie was sentenced to a whopping 4 days in jail for her DUI back in like February.

Did you know about the whole Paris situation also?
