Leaving on a Jet Plane

If my memory serves me correctly, Care, you are leaving for your adventure tomorrow (and if my memory has not served me correctly, then I am pretty certain you are leaving soon).
Regardless kiddo, have a safe trip over and make sure to hit us up 'blog' style as soon as you can to let us know you have arrived.
You're going to have an amazing time! I know I'm speaking on behalf of the whole 'gang' when I say that we're proud of you.
I believe a 'welcome home' party will be order upon your return.
Have a great time, much luck and love-

Sickly Penguin Butt Polls Favorably Among Female College Grads

Hey Guys, Thanks for coming up and hanging out this weekend. It was so great to see you (wearing 3-d glasses). You are all so awesome. I apologize for the multiple "close calls" in the minivan.

Please Turn to page 10 in your textbooks...

Great.
Now that we're all on the same page, I thought I'd do a quick run down of the day's activities.
Harvey and I have a flight out of Newark at 7, due in to Boston at 830. As of this am, our flight is on time.
Bri and Care will share a lover's moment on the way to the airport to come pick us up. If our flight is running late, well call one of you to let you know so you don't get stuck waiting around.
Clifford and her boy toy are going to go to Bri's apt. at about 9:00 tonight.
Well, I guess that is all.
So, B and C, we'll see you guys at the airport tonight. Knowing Harvey, she'll probably pull a 'mom' and make us call to 'touch base' with you this afternoon. You know how she do.
Ok, much love, see you all tonight.

"Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream"

For all you Colbert fans out there (and i know there are many), this one's for you. Ben and Jerry's has come out with a new flavor honoring Stephen Colbert, the new flavor is called "Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream." It's vanilla ice cream with fudge-covered waffle cone pieces and caramel (taken from the MSN website).

And what is Colbert's response to this honor:
"I'm not afraid to say it. Dessert has a well-known liberal agenda," Colbert said in a statement. "What I hope to do with this ice cream is bring some balance back to the freezer case."

Hope you all enjoyed this uselss tid-bit of info. Enjoy and happy valentines day.

P.S-Ang that post was hysterical and i read it aloud to people at work but omitted the "cigarette rolling" reference.

I agree. She was never taken seriously. That was mostly due to her being crazy (and on drugs?) but still...but still.

God, I knew I could count on the blog to discuss this awful tradgedy that occured at the hospital where I was born. (I dont know why I had to add that in).
Seriously though, am I the only one that is feeling kind of sad about this. I mean, it's weird, right. I have to go watch the news.

RIP-Anna Nicole Smith.

That is all i have to say about that.

A Little Self Promotion for the Lady

First off- Harvey, you are a nerd. I haven't yet decided if I want this to read an an insult or a compliment, so interpret as you will.

Second-I'm really into self promotion via our blog, so, keeping in the fine spirit of that (drum roll) I just had a portion of my book published in a literary magazine!!! These are the first pages from this manuscript to actually be published, so it's very, very exciting for me, and I wanted to share the news with some of my favorite people (aka, you guys)

You can read it online, although, when they post the print online, the formatting gets kind of weird, so, just don't pay attention to that please. Actually, I really dislike reading work from print online for this reason, but for the purpose of sharing on the blog, it makes life really easy.

The magazine, Miranda Magazine (Winter 2007), has published roughly 15 or so pp from a section of the book currently titled "Radiant-Red Violet".

If you have a chance, I'd love for you guys to check it out. I've been pouring my heart and soul into it, and so far, am at roughly 100 publishable, revised and edited (about a million times, but now complete) pages.

A little backstory- for my graduate program, our creative thesis is to write a, well, book (appropriatley), in the hopes that it will be published by the end of the program. I've been working with a really great editor on it, and am really excited, b/c these are the first pp of it to hit print. The book is currently formatted in a very non-linear fashion, jumping around between present and past, between memories and personal insights. I've been getting a lot of 'thumbs up' from my editor on it, as well as faculty members/peers in my program, so, well, I'm just really excited other editors are slowly taking interest in it as well.

Well, now that I've said all that, please resume whatever it is that you were doing.
hug/kiss-
a very satisfied/happy ang

I Put a Spell on You

I thought certain Harry Potter fans would be interested in reading this. Apparently, the new book will be on store shelves July 21 (Harvey, contain yourself, and stop speaking in that weird 'Harry Potter 'I'm putting a spell on you' language!)
