Yeah, I actually have 2 of my thesis deadlines that week (well, one is the day we leave to fly up and the other is that tuesday or wednesday or something like that), so I'll kind of have to come back on sunday night to work on that.

i just realized that that Monday is Prez day. I think i get off that day, but ang and i already booked the flights to come back that Sun. I guess we should have thought of that ahead of time. I will ask on Monday if we get that day off.

Come one, Come Nerdy

So, this is in response to a really old nerdy post:

I've been meaning to let certain parties know but have just kept forgetting until low and behold, this am, when Matt and I started our day with a wrenching discussion about heavy metal.

Just thought all you nerdy folks would like to know that Matt's best friend, Kyle (who some of you may remember from Burlington-shaggy haired kid, though some of you may better remember his bong, "Thor") plays in a heavenly metal band, and they recently opened for DRAGONFORCE in a magical display of metal thrashing that goes beyond any words that I could possibly put down on this page.

So, yeah, that's pretty random, but, after watching that Dragonfroce video on nerdy a few weeks back, and CLEARLY seeing their unearthly talents, I thought this little tale of "nine degrees of dragonforce' was worth posting here.

Back to, uh, work? Right.

Some of you may have read (or skimmed as it was a long post with "rules") on nerdy about the camera phone photo project going on. Basically, all participants set an alarm on their phone and take a picture every day at noon for a year. Roy made this awesome website where anyone can check out the pictures. Click on "January" or "2007" to see all of the pictures taken so far. I thought you lurkers might enjoy the spying on other people aspect of the project. Also, the site looks really cool. Enjoy.

Routine Mole removal?

Haha...routine mole removal...still laughing. I booked the flights this morning. They get in at 8:26 p.m. Can't wait to see you guys, sans a mole.

1). I love how active the blog has been lately. Good job ladies and lurkers alike.

Harvey and I have been looking at our schedules, and it looks like the only weekend that we will be able to make it up to Boston to hang out is the weekend of February 16th. We found a flight that will put us into Boston at about 8 or so that Friday night. As Harvey has been interviewing for a new job recently, and I am currently in my thesis semester for school, it seems with our deadlines, etc., that is really the only weekend we will be able to come prior to you leaving for your trip. You leave at the end of the month, right?

Chadsey, does this work for you? Will your Viking helmet be available to drink with us that weekend?
Okay, Care, let as know as soon as you can so we can book our flight, and, hopefully, we will all be together, wearing mismatched sweatpants, eating bagels, enjoying Shanequa (??spelling??), sipping cheap champagne, and listening to Harvey sing Streisand tunes very, very soon.

Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to read my essay. I have another essay that is being published in a journal in February(in creative nonfiction, they are called essays, not short stories, fyi...I'm so professional and in the know now, right?)
I have also recently completed an interview with the creative nonfiction writer and poet, Sue William Silverman (I don't know how to post links, but you should all read her work...it is intense and very well crafted), which I am currently soliciting to several different publications. I will post once it is published.
And another of my essays, Tulip, is currently being considered by a small handful of journals.
Who would have thought that the girl that used to try to blow off Vantage Point meetings on a weekly basis might actually get paid for her words one day.

Dunks in Taiwan !

Yes, let us hang out soon! My weekends are pretty much free and flexible. I am getting my wisdom teeth out on Friday the 26th of January but maybe that means I will just take pain killers and be tons of fun. What works for you guys? Do you want to hang up here in Mass? You are welcome to stay here in Essex and perhaps we can impose on my sister or Roy (lurker) if we want to hang in the city one night.

Ang, I can't wait to hear all of your fabulous and zaney stories from London. If they are anything like your cynic feature I'll be pumped, and you'll be high. And did anyone read CJ's story? It must have been before they taped stumpy to the ceiling.

Wow, was I high or something when I tried to tell them that story???I remember the cynic 'reporter' looking at me like I was nuts, and laughing alot, so the possibility is there.

Speaking of long-locked beauties, CJ called me the other night to hang out. Naturally, I blew him off (typical), but I do believe that we are getting together next week or something (assuming that I call him back-Ah!).

Also, while xmas shopping, I ran into Barcorne while we were both buying fancy jewlery in Tiffany's. It was rich (pun, intended as always).

To HARVEY, WITH LOVE

Hey,
Yeah, England was such an amazing place. I seriously fell in love with Oxford and want to pack up my life and live there forever. I already told my director that I will be there again next January, though I think for that trip, I will leave a week or two early, and spend some time traveling in France, etc prior to going to England, so feel free to join.
I'm playing catch up with stuff at home this week, so how about one night after work next week, we'll do dinner and a drink and enjoy one another's gossip??? Maybe Wednesday or Thrusday night? Let me know.

Just read the blog for the first time in a while. England was amazing, and a friend and I have already begun to plan our next trip! Bri, you were 100% right-I fell in love with it over there. If I ever decide to pursue a second masters, I think I may have to seriously consider some UK programs.
As I appreciate the cheese-factor of being a tourist, I thought you would all appreciate this photo that my friend Amanda and I perfectly posed in Piccadilly....Americans!
Also, Care, do you have any free weekends next month that we could all try to get together before you take flight? Let me know, and hopefully harvey and I can look into coming up sometime towards the end of the month.

I am leaving for Taiwan around February 26th. I'll be teaching at a school in an area of Taipei called Neihu. It looks pretty cool. Is Ang in England? Ang, if you are/ when you go, you need to post from there for the blog's sake.
